ABOUT US

The Dance Village program is a pilot intervention that seeks to reinforce positive self-realization and develop a supportive community for girls of the African diaspora.  The primary goal of this project is to uplift and strengthen the social emotional wellbeing of students of the greater metropolitan area who are going through adverse experiences in grades 1 through 5. Their dance teachers will be professional dancers who are in partnership with the local community. The project is to operate as a tailored program according to the needs of the students. The culminating project with the students will be a performance for the local school and families within the community. There are two components of the dance village which are the History Through Movement portion and the Dance Village Lab.
